Don't you feel that this creation is straight out of a fairy tale?
The Izmir necklace is part of the Bals de Légende High Jewelry collection (2011) and reinterprets the decor of the Oriental Ball, an opulent soirée organized in December 1969 at the Hôtel Lambert in Paris. With its bold design and colors, the piece depicts an imaginary castle in precious stones. The name "Izmir" refers to a city in Turkey, a country with multitude palaces dating from the Ottoman Empire. While the piece's upper part in white gold and diamonds evokes this architecture, typical oriental onion domes are highlighted by warm hues of colored gemstones: amethysts, garnets, citrines, pink tourmalines, blue and mauve spinels. Their shades are recalled by the unfolding cascade of garnet beads rows and the impressive 50.79-carat yellow sapphire showcased in the center of composition.
