Animals are potent symbols and attest to aesthetic influences. Van Cleef & Arpels has always been passionate about portraying a wide variety of fauna, while also expressing the spontaneity of each animal. In 1954, the Maison was the first to launch an easy-to-wear jewelry collection at Place Vendôme in Paris. The collection was named “La Boutique”, and primarily consisted of fanciful and humoristic animals at affordable prices. Inspired by cartoons, these colorful pieces were successful worldwide.
