Have you ever noticed that the most exciting innovations often occur at the intersections between different creative disciplines?

The following three spaces are dedicated to dialogues between jewelry and other arts, as seen from the perspective of Van Cleef & Arpels. The first intersection is with fashion. Since ancient times jewelry has represented an essential component of clothing, and comes close to fashion in the way that it relates, for example, to the shapes and colors of a dress. But more than that, the visual vocabulary of fashion has provided the Maison with a source of inspiration, from fashion’s design motifs to its experimental use of materials and color.

Founded in Place Vendôme in Paris, the Maison naturally draws inspiration from the world of couture, paying discrete homage to its city of origin. Golden lacework, sparkling bows and tassels adorned with precious stones celebrate Paris as the center of elegance. Remarkable for their fluidity, some creations reproduce the delicacy of lace and embroidered ribbons, or the suppleness of fabric like serge or tulle.
