Tiara transformable into a necklace
Platinum, white gold, diamonds
In 1956, Hollywood actress Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier III and became Princess of Monaco. Shortly before the wedding, the prince visited the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique in New York to buy a diamond and cultured pearl set for his wife as a wedding gift. The set was composed of a three-strand necklace and bracelet, a flower ring, and a pair of earrings. The same year, the Maison became an Official Supplier to the Principality of Monaco. From that day forth, Her Serene Highness Princess Grace acquired many Van Cleef & Arpels pieces from the boutiques in Monaco and New York, or received them as gifts.
In 1978, Van Cleef & Arpels once again took part in a royal union in Monaco. At the wedding of her daughter Caroline to Philippe Junot, Princess Grace wore the platinum tiara that you can see here. Set with 144 round diamonds, totaling 77.34 carats, this exquisite diadem is transformable and can also be worn as a necklace.
